Infodev of the world bank, the minister for education and schoolnet namibia are among the critical members of impactful partnerships in namibia. the success of the partnerships here, gesci hopes, will catalyze other programmes. on a parallel track to this, gesci is forging networks between initiatives in different places to share information, and disseminate knowledge about promising practices in key aspects of icts in schools. gesci's work in india is also developing at a promising pace. the link-up between existing ict for education efforts and the planning of overall icts for education strategies are being explored. plans and proposals come directly from the states involved. gesci's country programme facilitator is in discussions with states aimed at coming to a collective understanding of priorities and possibilities for gesci to add value. the discussions are wide and broad and aimed at encompassing a wide range of issues before agreements on cooperation are made. the ministry for education in india, local authorities, implementing ngos and community stakeholders are all involved. memoranda of understanding will soon be signed. the action of the implementation plan will follow. in bolivia, gesci has had listening, exploratory talks with a range of actors and interests. key government departments and agencies, ngos and universities, bilateral donors, and multilateral agencies, and other stakeholders in icts in schools have shared their visions and expectations. the work of translating that into a memorandum of understanding, and from there a programme of implementation starts now. meanwhile gesci's work in ghana is gathering a striking momentum. information about major actors, aspirations and activities in icts in schools has been compiled. based on this overview and the existing national educational strategy a mou is in draft stages. this the collaborative action plan, co-written by all major stakeholders teachers, ministry, ngos, and private sector representatives will be presented to the government. appropriate educational and community objectives and strategies for an overall deployment of icts to schools, consistent with national policies, expressed in documents such as national development plans, and consistent with the millennium development goals, should be the final result. on another front, gesci's knowledge work, to provide educators and decision-makers with comprehensive and accessible tools for understanding both the country-specific value and the feasibility of different technology options, is in the latter stages of completion. gesci believes that this one-of-a-kind calculator will go a long way to demystifying, and ultimately increasing access to icts in education for both developed and developing countries. concluding outlook going forward, gesci glimpses exponential growth on the horizon, as its models start to have a large-scale impact on the ground. in tunis, gesci will report back to the wsis ii, on its progress from conceptual origin to organization in action. it looks ahead to working with its partners in namibia, in india, with the world bank, unesco, and or find poker.
