Lead the chapter in the coming year. after many years of service as chapter advisor, grover ozmun is taking on another role in service to beta. blaine matray has taken on his former role, and will serve the chapter well. oklahoma state -- oklahoma state brought home its second sisson award and won the virginia tech award for highest gpa in the region. mom gallon won housemother of the year and tim wright '73 was awarded alumnus advisor of the year. the men concluded a successful recruitment process and brought in 34 future members. alumni, volunteers, chapter members and general fraternity staff kickedoff men of principle for the 2004-05 school year in august. the chapter has set goals to insure they bring home a knox award at next year's convention. it has a strong and experienced executive committee to lead the chapter in the coming year. under brad black's leadership, needed improvements and renovations have been completed on the house. much thanks go to steve walker for his work as interim chapter advisor and asst. district chief. xxiv tommy w. yates iowa -- alpha beta fell upon hard times over the last couple of years, and in the spring of 2004 the decision was made by the general fraternity and house corporation to close. it was a difficult decision but after many conversations with numerous parties, including the undergraduates, it was a decision that was best for the long-term. i commend the house corporation and advisors for their diligence and dedication over the past several years. they have committed to reestablishing the chapter in iowa city. i encourage all alumni to find a way to become involved, because once the chapter returns to active status, it will take the work of many to lead this effort. please contact a member of your house corporation to see how you can become involved today because the work to reestablish alpha beta starts right now. iowa state -- hard work does pay off. with great leadership in the chapter and a renewed focus by the alumni advisory team, the chapter has overcome the odds and pulled together an outstanding year. the cards were stacked against them as they were under a reorganization status; however, following the 2003 convention, at which time the chapter was provided with some challenging directives, members accepted the challenge and remained focused throughout the year. as a result, at this year's convention, the chapter was upgraded to good status. congratulations to all of those that worked so diligently to make that happen. the alumni have a great deal to be proud of. the challenge now becomes continuing the momentum they built during the last year. i confident that the foundation has been set and things will continue to go well in ames. nebraska -- this chapter continues to impress and shine. the men worked hard and were once again awarded with the coveted knox award at convention. to remain such a consistent and highly-regarded chapter says a great deal about the leadership from both the undergraduate and alumni level. they do a wonderful job at transitioning their leadership and lean.
